Welcome from the Chair
In the Department of Medicine at University of Mississippi Medical Center, we are committed to providing exceptional education and training of medical students, residents, and sub-specialty fellows. We also strive to provide excellent educational opportunities for physicians and clinicians both at the medical center as well as those in the community.
The education programs within the DOM are among the most revered regionally, with 260 rotating medical students, 100 medical residents, and 70 fellows each year in 12 subspecialties. DOM is committed to providing exceptional clinical training, career mentoring, and an academic environment with research opportunities to the trainees. Many residency alumni of the DOM populate prominent medical practices in the state of Mississippi providing general and specialty care to many of the state’s population. Exploring innovation in education remains a core purpose of the DOM and we continue to be committed to this goal.
Thank you for visiting our website, we hope you can see some of the wonderful things happening at UMMC.
